A two-pass U-bend bundle gives 5-276-08-042-002 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of TCS/TCW tank heater equipment in in-tank heating with boiler water in the tubes. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, and roughly 40-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 27 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes process tank heating, domestic water storage heating, and hot water storage tanks.
