Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n SU42-2 as shown on this page.
For steam-to-liquid heating, the SU/WU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 4-inch shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 29 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 4.5 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU42-2. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes swimming pool heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and building comfort heating.
