For steam-to-liquid heating, the SU/WU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 30-inch shell, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 137-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 1264 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are instantaneous domestic water heating, swimming pool heating, and building comfort heating. This build is designated SU309-4.
