A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 28-inch shell, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 82-1/16 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 540 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across building comfort heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and swimming pool heating. This build is designated SU285-6.
