Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers steam-to-liquid heating for demanding service. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 28-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 90-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 587 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU285-2. Standard construction uses steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes radiant panel and snow-melt converters, instantaneous domestic water heating, and building comfort heating.
