SU284-6

A removable U-tube bundle gives SU284-6 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 28-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 70-1/16 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 420 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in instantaneous domestic water heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and building comfort heating.
