this configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 28-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 78-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 456 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated SU284-2. The series sees regular use in swimming pool heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and building comfort heating.
