Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. The configuration measures 24 inches across the shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 106 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 586 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated SU246-2. The series sees regular use in building comfort heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and swimming pool heating.
