Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 20-inch shell unit, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 97-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 439 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU207-4. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are building comfort heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and swimming pool heating.
