Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n SU168-2 as shown on this page.
Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 16-inch diameter shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 105-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 304 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU168-2. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are building comfort heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and swimming pool heating.
