SU163-4

A removable U-tube bundle gives SU163-4 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 16-inch diameter shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 48-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 106 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are swimming pool heating, building comfort heating, and instantaneous domestic water heating.
