Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n SU163-2 as shown on this page.
Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. The configuration measures 16 inches across the shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 48-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 112 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are radiant panel and snow-melt converters, instantaneous domestic water heating, and swimming pool heating. This build is designated SU163-2.
