A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 12-inch shell, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 113-1/2 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 180 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are instantaneous domestic water heating, building comfort heating, and swimming pool heating. This build is designated 5-261-12-108-005.
