Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n 5-261-12-036-001 as shown on this page.
A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 12-inch shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 41-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 61 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as 5-261-12-036-001. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are instantaneous domestic water heating, swimming pool heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
