Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. The configuration measures 10 inches across the shell, 120-inch shell length, and roughly 125 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 138 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in building comfort heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
