HTWU66-43

HTWU66-43 is a HTWU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for high-temperature water heating. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Its envelope centers on a 6-inch diameter shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 76-1/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 26.8 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are high-temperature hot water distribution, campus and district energy systems, and converter duty on HTHW loops.
