Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n HTWU63-43 as shown on this page.
this configuration is a HTWU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for high-temperature water heating. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Its envelope centers on a 6-inch diameter shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 40-1/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 12.7 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in campus and district energy systems, converter duty on HTHW loops, and industrial process heating. This build is designated HTWU63-43.
