Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n HTWU128-44 as shown on this page.
A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of HTWU equipment in high-temperature water heating. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. Its envelope centers on a 12-inch diameter shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 102 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 160 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in campus and district energy systems, industrial process heating, and converter duty on HTHW loops. This build is designated HTWU128-44.
