Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n 5-268-12-096-001 as shown on this page.
A removable U-tube bundle gives 5-268-12-096-001 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of HTWU equipment in high-temperature water heating. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. The configuration measures 12 inches across the shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 102 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 169 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are high-temperature hot water distribution, campus and district energy systems, and converter duty on HTHW loops.
