Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n 5-268-12-048-001 as shown on this page.
Configured for high-temperature water heating, 5-268-12-048-001 carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the HTWU range. High-temperature water flows through the tube side, so the heads rather than the shell set the pressure limit. The configuration measures 12 inches across the shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 54 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 83 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 400 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes campus and district energy systems, high-temperature hot water distribution, and converter duty on HTHW loops.
