Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 6 inches across the shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 88-1/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 23.8 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in hydronic HVAC converters, oil cooling and snow melting, and condensate cooling. This build is designated WU67-63.
