Configured for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, WU64-23 carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 52-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 17.39 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are hydronic HVAC converters, oil cooling and snow melting, and pool and storage-tower heating.
