WU63-63

This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 40-1/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 9.6 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes hydronic HVAC converters, condensate cooling, and oil cooling and snow melting. This build is designated WU63-63.
