The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 4-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 76-7/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 13.9 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as WU46-24. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature.
