WU308-2

This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 30 inches across the shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 138-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 1139 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes condensate cooling, pool and storage-tower heating, and oil cooling and snow melting. This build is designated WU308-2.
