WU287-4

WU287-4 is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Its envelope centers on a 28-inch diameter shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 123-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 831 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes pool and storage-tower heating, oil cooling and snow melting, and hydronic HVAC converters.
