Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 28 inches across the shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 126-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 848 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in condensate cooling, pool and storage-tower heating, and oil cooling and snow melting. This build is designated WU287-2.
