The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 20-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 101-1/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 439 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU207-48. Typical duty includes oil cooling and snow melting, hydronic HVAC converters, and condensate cooling.
