This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 20-inch shell, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 81-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 324 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Installations range across oil cooling and snow melting, pool and storage-tower heating, and condensate cooling. This build is designated WU205-213.
