This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 20-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 65-1/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU204-68. Common applications are hydronic HVAC converters, condensate cooling, and oil cooling and snow melting. Optional stainless shells, 90/10 copper-nickel tubes, and cast brass or bronze bonnets suit aggressive or brackish water service.
