Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n WU165-410 as shown on this page.
A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 16-inch shell, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 69-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 188 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as WU165-410. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes hydronic HVAC converters, condensate cooling, and oil cooling and snow melting.
