A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 14-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 81-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 175 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as WU146-24. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature.
