Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 12-inch shell, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 116-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 191 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU129-26. The series sees regular use in condensate cooling, hydronic HVAC converters, and oil cooling and snow melting.
