Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 12-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 80-1/2 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 103 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in condensate cooling, hydronic HVAC converters, and oil cooling and snow melting. This build is designated WU126-66.
