Configured for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 12-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 68-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 104 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU125-26. Typical duty includes condensate cooling, hydronic HVAC converters, and oil cooling and snow melting.
