For liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, the SU/WU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 10-inch shell, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 113 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 104 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU109-65.
