Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 12-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 68-1/2 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 98 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature.
