Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 4-inch shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 76-7/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 13.9 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in oil cooling and snow melting, condensate cooling, and pool and storage-tower heating.
