An internally packed floating rear tubesheet absorbs differential expansion, and the bundle pulls for straight-through mechanical tube cleaning. Its envelope centers on a 18-inch diameter shell, 144-inch shell length, and roughly 163 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 725 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in process heating and cooling, oil and quench cooling, and chemical and refinery duty.
