A double-wall U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of Diamondback DSU/DWU equipment in liquid-to-liquid transfer with cross-contamination protection. Each tube is vented to atmosphere through a diamond-pattern air gap, so a failure in either wall reports itself outside the unit. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 72-inch shell length in a 6-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper (double wall) tubes, and naval brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes glycol-to-potable loops, potable water heating and cooling, and domestic water systems under double-wall codes. This build is designated 5-267-08-072-003.
