Built around a double-wall U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers liquid-to-liquid transfer with cross-contamination protection for demanding service. Each tube is vented to atmosphere through a diamond-pattern air gap, so a failure in either wall reports itself outside the unit. The configuration measures 8 inches across the shell, 72-inch shell length in a 4-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper (double wall) tubes, and naval brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated 5-267-08-072-002.
