The CHXS compact platform pairs a fixed-tubesheet bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and CHXS896-1S applies that design to compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 96-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in hydraulic and lube oil cooling, deionized and treated water cooling, and mechanical seal cooling.
