A fixed-tubesheet bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of CHXS compact equipment in compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 78-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 124 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes hydraulic and lube oil cooling, chemical and food process cooling, and mechanical seal cooling. This build is designated CHXS872-4L.
