CHXS414-2S

Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, CHXS414-2S delivers compact liquid cooling in corrosive service for demanding service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 4-inch shell, 14-inch shell length, and roughly 17-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 8.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in hydraulic and lube oil cooling, deionized and treated water cooling, and mechanical seal cooling.
