This configuration is a CHXS compact unit built on a fixed-tubesheet bundle for compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 3-inch shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 27-1/2 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 7.4 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated CHXS324-1S. Installations range across chemical and food process cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and deionized and treated water cooling.
