For compact liquid cooling in corrosive service, the CHXS compact line offers a fixed-tubesheet bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Dimensionally it is a 3-inch shell unit, 8-inch shell length, and roughly 11-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 2.4 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are hydraulic and lube oil cooling, deionized and treated water cooling, and mechanical seal cooling. This build is designated CHXS308-2L.
