Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, this configuration delivers compact liquid cooling in corrosive service for demanding service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 42-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 62 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes chemical and food process cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and deionized and treated water cooling. This build is designated 5-160-08-036-003.
