Configured for compact liquid cooling in corrosive service, this configuration carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHXS compact range. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 5-inch shell, 14-inch shell length, and roughly 18-1/2 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 9.1 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes mechanical seal cooling, chemical and food process cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling. This build is designated 5-160-05-014-001.
