Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, this configuration delivers compact liquid cooling for demanding service. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 78-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 124 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as CHX872-2L. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in engine jacket water cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and injection molding machine cooling.
