Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 6-inch shell unit, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 29-3/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 23 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as CHX624-2L. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes mechanical seal cooling, engine jacket water cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling.
